Experience the early Christmas atmosphere in the beautiful city of Cologne. Try our super value visit and buy your traditional Christmas stocking fillers, which you won't find in British stores. Gaily lit market stalls with all kinds of goods to buy or eat! See the famous twin spires of the Cathedral, to complete a really memorable visit to this prominent German city. There are three Christmas Markets in Cologne. The Cathedral Market with its giant illuminated Christmas tree in the centre, is renowned for its ceramic mugs and glasses, international and culinary specialities, Christmas music and stories, plus the original Christmas "Glühwein." The Altmarkt located in the old town specialised in Christmas handicrafts, jewellery and tasty delicacies. The Neumarkt is the oldest Christmas Market and can be found in front of the Romanesque Church of St. Aposteln. Here you will find demonstrations by pewterers, wreath-binders, glass blowers and silk painters, as well as the production of environmentally friendly children's toys.

Departure

December 7

Day One
We leave early morning and drive south for our crossing to Calais. We then continue our journey across France, Belgium and on to Germany and our hotel in the Cologne area

Day Two
After breakfast, we leave our hotel and make our way into the city centre, to spend the day exploring the Christmas Markets. Your coach will then pick you up late afternoon, to take you back to your hotel. You have the opportunity to freshen up before maybe hitting the town again for some of that unique evening atmosphere of the markets.

Day Three
After breakfast we depart from our hotel and retrace our steps back through Germany, Belgium and France to Calais. Time permitting we will stop at a beer and wine warehouse before our afternoon crossing back to the UK. We arrive home in the early evening loaded down with those special Christmas goodies.
