Your walking tour includes the walls surrounding the city, the shambles, the City Centre, and the Minster (admission not included). It's recommended you visit the Viking Centre, which has been recreated from actual Viking ruins uncovered during excavations in the area. York is the finest small city in the North of England, while other places have ancient town walls, narrow old streets, good museums, and fine big churches, but none has then in quite such a concentration of excellence as does York.
