Brugge is one of Europe's best preserved medieval cities. It used to be Belgium's richest and busiest port, until the river silted up. Then this beautiful city, full of architectural splendour was quite literally forgotten and became a quiet backwater, remaining unspoilt for hundreds of years. These days, you are able to stroll along the beautiful canals and through the quiet gardens, enjoy the quaint, cobbled streets and see the city, much as it was centuries ago.

Extended Day Trip to Brugge
We depart in the early hours of the morning and travel south for our crossing to Calais. After a short channel crossing, we then take an hour's drive to Brugge, stopping en-route at a chocolate factory where there may be an opportunity to see chocolates being made. On arrival in Brugge, we will drop you at the coach park where your driver or escort will take you for a short and scenic walk to the city centre. The day is then yours to spend how you please. You could take a canal boat cruise (extra cost) or a stroll through the parks and down the river. Alternatively take a horse drawn carriage ride (extra cost) down the quaint, cobbled streets admiring the architectural splendour. If you're feeling energetic, you could climb the bell tower for an amazing view of the city or do some shopping in the many shops and boutiques. Treat yourself to some beautiful lace or more delicious Belgian chocolates at reasonable prices. The coach departs late afternoon, to make our way back to Calais for our channel crossing back to the UK, before arriving at our pick up points late at night.
